Yellow Spotted Parascolymia Coral

Yellow Spotted Parascolymia Coral

Parascolymia, are relatively easy-to-care-for LPS corals requiring stable, clean water, low-to-moderate lighting, and gentle-to-moderate flow. They are semi-aggressive, needing space for sweeper tentacles. Feed them meaty foods for optimal growth.

Key Care Parameters

Lighting: Low to moderate is ideal. High light can cause bleaching, so place them lower in the tank.

Flow: Moderate flow is best to keep detritus from settling on the coral and causing tissue damage.

Water Quality: Stable parameters are essential.

Temperature 74-78°F

Salinity 1.024-1.026

pH 8.1-8.4

Alkalinity 8-12 dKH

Calcium 400-450 ppm

Magnesium 1250-1350 ppm.

Feeding: While photosynthetic, regular target feeding with meaty foods like mysis shrimp, krill, or plankton helps them thrive and grow faster.

Placement: Place on the sandbed or low on rockwork, leaving plenty of room for sweeper tentacles that may extend at night.

Potential Issues

Tissue Recession: Often caused by too much light, too much flow, or unstable water chemistry.
